There’s been lots of questions from FOREVER Artisan users about how to use Kellybell Designs templates now that PAGE files are no longer included (effective for new templates released after 8/2026). FOREVER Artisan users can utilize the individual template PNG files to “build” the template, but it does involve a few steps – so here’s a quick tutorial to guide you along.
1. Open New Page: Start a new blank project with 12×12 inch dimensions.
2. Find The Template PNGs: Open the folder containing the template’s PNG files.
3. Sort The Files Backwards: Layers are usually ordered from top to bottom. To make them stack properly in FOREVER Artisan, change the folder view setting to SORT BY DESCENDING. This pushes the background layer to the top of the file list, followed by all the other layered elements.
4. Drag & Drop: Select all the PNG files and drag the entire group and drop them into your workspace. You should now see the background layer at the very bottom of your workspace layers.
5. Center: The template layers may not be centered correctly on the page. To fix that, select all the layers and click Home/Align/Center on Page.
6. Crop the PNG layers: Each imported PNG is embedded in a whole 12×12 transparent layer. To reduce the file size, you’ll need to crop the transparent portion of each PNG layer. With all the layers selected, click Cut and Fill/Straight/Straight Edge on the menu bar. You’ll need to use the yellow directional arrow which appears in the middle of the page and drag it off your project. Then click CUT. This may take several minutes to process, especially if you have an older computer.
7. Save as a PAGE file to use over and over.
