What is digital scrapbooking?
Digital scrapbooking is simply scrapbooking using your computer. You use digital papers and elements along with your digital photographs to create digital scrapbook layouts. You can then combine these layouts into an album and make a photo book. Or you can print out each page individually and put them in your own albums or notebooks.
How do I get started with digital scrapbooking?
To create digital scrapbook pages, you’ll need a personal computer, digital photographs, computer graphics software and digital papers and embellishments. There are several graphics software programs available today like Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Photoshop Elements, Corel Paintshop Pro, MyMemories Suite, GIMP, Storybook Creator/Artisan and others. You’ll need to learn how to use these programs to assemble a scrapbook layout. There are numerous tutorials on YouTube as well as on the web. A simple web search will come up with tons of assistance.
How do I use Kellybell Designs products?
Kellybell Designs provides colorful and unique scrapbooking kits and accessories for scrapping your Disney trips and everyday memories. I sell scrapbooking kits, word art, page starters, journal cards, quick pages, word tags & flairs, templates and more. You can use my products for digital scrapbooking or print them out for traditional paper scrapbooking. My products can also be used to create party invitations, party decorations, home décor projects, cards, holiday calendars, t-shirt designs, autograph cards and much more. You can use my products over and over again for any personal projects.
How do I create a scrapbook layout?
First, you’ll need to get familiar with a computer graphics software program. Photoshop &Photoshop Elements are the most popular for digital scrappers, but any software that is capable of “layering” items on top of each other will work for. Layouts are created by layering items on a digital page. You start with background papers, add in some frames to put your photos in, add some decorative elements around the page, write some journaling to document your memory, add in a title, add shadows to make the elements more realistic looking, and then save your page.
How do I print my layouts? What photo printing services do you recommend?
There are 2 ways to print out your scrapbook layouts. First you can print each individual page. You can print them on your own printer at home, or you can use a service like Persnickety Prints which is fabulous for printing out single pages. But any store that offers photo printing can print your layouts for you. Then you can take your individual pages and organize them however you wish by placing them in a notebook or photo album. The second way is to use a photo book printing service to create a physical photo book. You upload all your digital scrapbook layouts, create a cover page and back cover page, and have an entire book printed for you. Some services I’ve used are Shutterfly, Mixbook and Snapfish. There are so many photo service companies out there.
How do I connect with you on social media?

Products
What format and quality are your collections?
My digital kits are comprised of elements, papers and an alpha. Elements are individual PNG files that are made at 300dpi. Papers are JPG files that are sized at 12×12 (3600×3600 pixels). Alphas are PNG files that are 300dpi including both lower and upper case letters, numbers, and punctuation.
Will I receive anything by mail?
NO. All my products are digital meaning everything is a digital file and delivered to you via a digital download. No physical product will be received.
If I purchase products from your store, how often can I use them?
You can use my digital products as many times as you want for your own personal projects. You can also modify my products (change the color or resize). Please note that my products are for PERSONAL USE ONLY.
What are the other JPG preview images in the ZIP file? Why can't I access those products?
In addition to the individual PNG element files included in your product purchase, there’s also several preview images of other coordinating packs offered in that collection. These are included as an FYI only as all the other coordinating packs are sold separately. Sometimes these additional images are included in a separate folder called “Coordinating Products”, other times the preview images are all in the one folder.
What file types are your templates?
My templates are sized at 12×12 at 300 dpi. The file formats include layered .PSD files, layered .TIFF files, layered .PAGE files for use with SBC/Artisan, and individual .PNG files for non Photoshop scrappers.
There are several digital scrapbooking programs that can use these files including Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, MyMemories Suite, Memory Maker, Storybook Creator/Artisan, and others.
What is a Quick Page and how do I use it?
Quick Pages are pre-formatted, pre-decorated scrapbook layouts. Their purpose is to jump start your layouts and make it fast and easy to create a scrapbook page. There are “openings” in the page where you can add in your digital photos behind the page. You can also add your own elements or journaling to the page. My Quick Pages are PNG files sized at 12×12 at 300dpi. The PNG file is a “flattened” file format meaning there are no layers and you cannot move around any of the elements or decorations on a QuickPage.
What do all the acronyms mean?
DPI – dots per inch
PNG – A file format that stands for Portable Network Graphics. These files have transparent backgrounds. All elements are saved as PNG files.
JPG – A file format that stands for Joint Photographic Experts Groups. This is a standard file format used for photographs. It allows for compressed images that maintain maximum color and tone. All papers are saved as JPG files.
PSD – A layered image document used only in Adobe Photoshop software programs. Stands for Photoshop Document.
TIFF – A file format that stands for Tagged Image File Format. It is also a layered image document format that can be used in both Photoshop and other graphics editing programs.
SBC – Storybook Creator by Creative Memories. A graphics software program for Mac.
TOU – Terms of Use. Designers will state how their products can and can’t be used.

Using Digital Files For Paper Layouts & Crafts
What is hybrid scrapbooking? Why is is called hybrid instead of just paper?
Hybrid scrapbooking is using digital files to create paper layouts and projects. You have to print and cut the embellishments and papers first. Then you use the printed elements, journal cards and papers for making a traditional, paper layout, or slide them into a vinyl, pocket sleeve. Both are beautiful alternatives to digital scrapbooking.
It’s called “hybrid” because you are using digital files instead of going to your local Michaels/Hobby Lobby and purchasing “physical” scrapbook paper and stickers.
How do I get started with hybrid scrapbooking?
You need 4 things to get started:
- A method to organize and resize your embellishments prior to printing. You can use a scrapbooking software like Photoshop Elements, or the design software included with your Cricut or Silhouette cutting machine (Cricut Design Space or Silhouette Studio), or something like Microsoft Word or Powerpoint. You can also print out the 8.5×11 printable PDF files included with the journal cards, snippets, pocket and word flair packs.
- A printer. There are lots of choices for printers. Most popular brands are HP, Epson and Canon.
- Cardstock paper. It’s better to use a heavier weight paper than plain printer paper.
- A cutting tool. You can use a cutting machine from Cricut, Silhouette or Brother. You can also cut items out with scissors or a paper trimmer.
Why would I use digital products to make paper layouts?
Sadly, local craft stores are slimming down their scrapbooking selections, and many don’t carry Disney themed products. One way to broaden your choices is to use digital files to make your own paper embellishments. Unlike a sheet of stickers or chipboard embellishments, digital products can be use over and over again. Plus you can resize them to make them bigger or smaller to fit your layout needs. There’s a much broader selection of digital products available for scrapbooking.
How do I turn digital elements into a printed element?
First you need to select which products to use (like some flowers, word art titles, journal cards, word strips). All digital embellishments are PNG file which can be imported into Cricut Design Space, Silhouette Studio, and other software programs. You resize the elements and arrange them across separate 8.5×11 pages for printing. With the print and cut method, you are setting up an “outline” around each element so the cutting machine knows if you want just the element cut or if you want a white border around each element – like a sticker. The printed pages are then fed into a cutting machine like Cricut, Silhouette, Brother and others.
Can these PNG elements be used with Cricut Design Space and Silhouette Studio?
Absolutely! You can use any of the PNG embellishments (elements, word art, journal cards, page starters, word flairs, pocket, snippets) and import them into Cricut Designs Space or Silhouette Studio. The PNGs are “flattened” images so you will print first on white cardstock paper, then cut them. PNGs are not SVG files where you can separate individual layers.
What if I don't have a cutting machine? Or any digital design software?
You can use Microsoft Word or Powerpoint to import PNG images and resize/arrange them on a page for printing. Starting on Jan1, I’ve included printable PDF files with the Pocket, Snippet, Journal Cards and Word Flair products which don’t require any special software at all to print. You can cut out any printed embellishments with scissors and paper trimmers.
Do you include printable PDF files for any products?
Yes. For collections released after Jan 1, 2020, there are 8.5×11 printable PDF files included with all Journal Cards, Pocket, Snippets and Word Flair products. These packs include the individual PNG files as well as the printable PDF files. You just view the file and print on cardstock paper.
Shop
How do I register? Do I need to be registered to purchase items from the store?
You can register for my store from either the Home Page or the Shop Page. There is a menu on the left sidebar under My Account called “Register”. You need a valid email address to register. You will be sent a confirmation email and must confirm your email to complete the registration. You’ll need to be registered with my store in order to make any purchases. This way, you’ll have a record of your orders and can access all your downloads from your “My Account” page.
I forgot my password, what do I do? How can I change my password?
If you’ve forgotten your password, you can go to the “Forgot Password” link on the left sidebar menu on either the Home Page or Shop Page. You will type in your email address and a reset email will be sent to you.
If you need to change your password, you can do so in the My Account page. If you click on “Account Details” you will be able to change your password.
How do I quickly search for products in your store?
The store is filled with lots of amazing product choices! Sometimes it can be frustrating or confusing to find exactly what you are looking for. For your convenience, you can search for items, sort products in different ways, and show more or less products per page. On the Shop Page, there are 2 toggle boxes above the products – one called “Show Products” on the left and one called “Sort By” on the right. You can select to show more/less products per page on your computer, so that you don’t have sort through multiple pages. You can change the sort order to sort by latest, sort by name A-Z, or sort by price low to high. There is also a search bar where you can type in keywords for the item your searching for.
How often do you have sales?
Everyone loves a sale! Storewide sales usually occur around events such as National Scrapbook Day in May, Digital Scrapbook Day in October and Black Friday in November. New releases are priced at 25% for the weekend they are released so grab them at a discount when they are just released.
How do I add a product to the Wish List?
If you’re not ready to purchase quite yet, you can add products to your Wish List in 2 ways. There’s a small black heart in the top left corner of every product, if you click on it, you will add that product to your Wish List and the heart will change to red. Click the heart again to remove it from the Wish List. When viewing a product, there is a prompt to Add To Wish List under the quantity sign.
Checkout and Payment
What types of payments do you accept?
I’m a small online business, so the only method of payment I accept is Paypal. This is a very secure payment method that provides protections for you as a customer and me as a merchant.
How do I use a coupon code?
After you’ve logged in and have added items in your shopping cart, go to your Cart. On the right side, under the cart total is a box called “Apply Coupon”. Enter in the coupon code, be careful to type it exactly as given, they are case sensitive. If your coupon is not working, it may be because it has expired or may not apply to a certain product or sale. Please contact me if you think there is a problem with your coupon code.
How do I purchase and redeem a gift certificate?
Inside the Shop, there is a Gift Card category that has a gift card product that allows you to select the amount ($6.50-$100) that you want to purchase. After selecting the amount, you add this product to your Cart. You can send a gift card directly to a friend or loved one by filling out their email address and a message. Upon checkout, you will receive an email with the Gift Card Code (16 numbers). Gift cards never expire.
To redeem your gift card, you’ll need to locate your Gift Card Code (a 16 digit number XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX). After you’ve logged in and have added items in your shopping cart, go to Proceed to Checkout and enter your 16 digit Gift Card code in the box provided at the bottom of the page. Click “Apply Gift Card” and the system will adjust your total accordingly and list the remaining balance.
Downloads
What are ZIP files? Why are my downloads in ZIP files?
A ZIP file is simply a collection of files that have been compressed into a single file for easy transportation and storage. The most common use for ZIP files is software downloads. Zipping a software program saves storage space on the server, decreases the time it takes for you to download it to your computer, and keeps the hundreds or thousands of files nicely organized in the single ZIP file. When you purchase any of my products, the elements, papers, alphas, word art, etc will be efficiently organized into one or more ZIP files. It makes it easier and faster for you go receive your digital products.
How do I unzip or extract ZIP files?
All downloaded files are in compressed .zip format, which will require a program such as Winzip to extract (“unzip”) or uncompress them. Your operating system may already have a built-in option that you can choose to extract the file by right-clicking on the zipped file and selecting “Extract All”. There are also several extract/unzip programs you can use to unzip multiple files at once like WinZip or ExtractNow.
How do I access my downloads and how long are they valid?
Once your order is complete, you will instantly see an order receipt showing what you’ve purchased and the ZIP files associated with each item you’ve purchased. You will receive an order confirmation email containing the download links. Your download links are also available in the Shop under My Account. Download links are active for 30 days or 5 download attempts, whichever comes first. Please download your files, unzip them, and check your purchases within this time limit. For security purposes, the links expire after that time frame and are no longer available for downloading.
I’m having trouble downloading my order and have exceeded my 5 attempts. What should I do?
If you are having trouble downloading your files and have used up your 5 download attempts, please use the “Contact Us” link at the bottom of my Home page or Shop page. Put the words “Order Reset” in the subject line and include your order number that needs the links reset. Requests for resetting links for more than 40 products will be charged an administrative reset fee of $10.
Why are there 5 downloads? Do I need to download products 5 times? Are there updates?
Some people have a slow Internet connection or have ISP interruptions which can disrupt the download from finishing completely. The Shop allows 5 download attempts to get your product to your own computer. Once you successfully download a file, there is no need to download the file again. There are no updates or revisions posted to any files.
My computer crashed and I lost all my files. Can you reset my past orders?
Occasionally technical difficulties may make your digital files inaccessible. It’s critical to backup your files on a regular basis onto an external hard drive or online storage service, or burn them to a CD or DVD. If your hard drive has crashed and you need multiple orders reset, please use the “Contact Us” link at the bottom of my Home page or Shop page. Put the words “Multiple Orders Reset” in the subject line and include the order numbers that needs their download links reset. Requests for resetting links for more than 40 products will be charged an administrative reset fee of $20. Please allow up to 72 hours for order reset requests to be processed. You will be sent a Reset Fee Paypal invoice. Once this fee has been paid, the links will be re-activated. Orders purchased before February 16, 2018 cannot be reset (2/16/2018 was the opening date of my new store and order system).
Refunds and Terms of Use
What is your return policy? Do you give refunds or exchanges?
All Kellybell Designs’ products are digital merchandise and available for immediate download after purchase. They are not refundable or exchangeable. I do not issue refunds or credits. It is your responsibility to check your inventory of Kellybell Designs products before each purchase to avoid any duplicate purchases. There are some items in the store that have been previously offered as Facebook Freebies or Mousescrappers Participation Prizes, so it’s important to check your scrapping stash prior to making any purchases.
What are the Terms Of Use for your products?
My products may be used for PERSONAL USE only. NO COMMERCIAL USE or SCRAP FOR HIRE is allowed. You may not re-sell or claim these products as your own creations. You may not alter these images and then claim them as your own. You may not use any portion of these kits in any commercial work. You may not share or distribute these products under any circumstances, even if they were downloaded for free. Please direct your friends directly to the website where they can download or purchase items for themselves. Sharing/redistributing/selling these files to others is piracy and is illegal. I will not take piracy lightly and will pursue monetary damages should I find my designs being pirated. You may not use these designs to create pornographic, violent, immoral, racial, or other offensive works.
Can I share my purchases with family and friends?
NO. All products purchased from my store are for the use of the single customer who made the product purchase. They are for PERSONAL USE ONLY and cannot be shared across family members, friends, or clients. Sharing the download links, zip files or individual product item violates my Terms Of Use.
Can I make my own freebies with your products and offer them on my blog or social media?
No. All products are for PERSONAL USE ONLY and cannot be shared or distributed to others. Sharing the download links, zip files or individual product item violates my Terms Of Use.
Can I create my own Disney autograph books, t-shirts, invitations, and other items for my trip?
Yes! My products are very versatile and can be used to create all kinds of great ideas for your family and for your trips as long as they are for your personal use only. My Terms Of Use do not allow you to sell my products or make items with my products and sell them.
Can I use your products to decorate my blog?
You may use my designs to decorate your PERSONAL blog as long as all items are used at 72 dpi (resolution) and credit is given to me somewhere on your blog (list the kits name(s), my name, and my store. i.e.(Magical Memories by Kellybell Designs at kellybelldesigns.com). This does NOT give you the right to create blog templates. The ability to use my designs on your blog applies only to YOU and the blog designs you create with my products may not be shared or redistributed. You may not use my designs to decorate your blog without written consent if the blog is commercial and used in any way to earn money or to promote your business. You may not use my designs for any other web design without written consent.
Gallery
What is the gallery and what is it used for?
The gallery is a place to showcase scrapbook layouts and projects made with Kellybell Designs products. You can upload your digital layouts or a photo of your paper layout or hybrid project. The gallery is also a great place to browse for layout inspiration to get some great ideas on how to scrap a page or scrap a specific Disney memory.
Do I need to login to upload photos?
You can browse through the gallery to view all the layouts if you are not logged in. If you want to upload a layout or to add any comments, you need to be logged in first so that your username is associated with your layouts/comments and that you can edit or delete them later. The gallery login is the same as your Store login.
How do I upload a layout?
Login to Kellybell Designs. The gallery uses the same login as the Store, so there are not multiple passwords to remember. Follow these steps to upload a layout:
– Click on “Upload Photo” in the top black menu bar
– Type in a Title. This is a mandatory field.
– Type in a Description. The description box for each layout only shows a short 2 lines (you can expand the box to show the full description). To make things easier, you can just say “Made with the XXX collection”. The description box does not allow for hyperlinks.
– Select the gallery. Choose Member Gallery for majority of your layouts. Choose Challenges Gallery if you’re participating in a Kellybell Designs Challenge.
– Select your image from either your computer, tablet or phone.
– Click “Submit Photo”. The upload process may take anywhere from 45-90 seconds. Right now it’s very slow and I’m working with tech support on improving the upload speed. Do not refresh your screen or hit “Submit Photo” several times because that will cause duplicate images to be loaded.
– Once it’s uploaded, you’ll see the layout image and your descriptive information
Are only digital layouts acceptable? Can I upload hybrid projects or paper layouts?
The gallery is a place to show off all different kinds of projects made with Kellybell Designs products. That can be both digital or paper scrapbook layouts, as well as hybrid projects like invitations, cards, autograph cards etc. Just make sure that you take a picture of your hybrid or paper layout and make sure the file sizing is less than the 1MB file limit.
What is the max size for uploading a layout? My layouts exceeds the size limit.
The max size limit for uploading a layout is 1 MB. Most layouts that are 600×600 and reduced for saving to a website are sized around 200KB (much smaller than the max size). If you get an error message saying your file exceeds the max size, then you probably didn’t reduce the layout for saving to a website.
How do I resize my layout in Photoshop/Elements or Artisan?
If you are getting an error message when you upload a layout to the gallery, it’s most likely because your layout is too big or exceeds the dimensions limit. Layouts should be sized at 600×600 pixels AND file size should be no larger than 1MB..
For Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, first flatten the layout. To resize, go to Image/Resize/Image Size and put 600 in the pixel width and height. Then do File/Save For Web. Input your file name and save as JPG. You might think that the layout is too tiny to display, but for web galleries smaller sizes are OK and you’ll still have crisp resolution. You don’t want to print these smaller images.
For Artisan, After the page is saved the user should click on “File”, “Save as”, and then “Export Current Page”. In the “File name:” box assign a name and then in “Save as type:” click on the down arrow and choose “JPG”. Click on Save. In the “Page save options” box that appears change the resolution from 300 dpi to 72 dpi. In the “Image quality” box move the bar from 10 to 8 or 9. Click on “OK” and the file will be saved in a size that can be uploaded to the website.
Why does the upload process take so long?
Currently, it takes anywhere from 45-90 seconds to upload a layout into the gallery. The security software in my store takes extra precautions to make sure no spam or viruses are uploaded on the servers. Sadly, this does mean an upload takes longer than we’d all like. Please be patient. Having a gallery of your beautiful layouts is certainly worth the wait!
What are the 3 gallery categories used for?
Inside the gallery, there are 3 categories for storing your layouts – Member Gallery, Challenges Gallery and CT Gallery. Majority of your layouts should be saved in the Member Gallery. If you participate in a Kellybell Designs Challenge, you would upload your layout to the Challenges Gallery in order to get credit for participating and to receive your participation prize. The CT Gallery is intended solely for my Creative Team Gals for them to share their layouts with the new releases each week.
The gallery is using my real name. How do I change my display name?
When you originally registered on my store, you were asked for a username. It may have defaulted to your first and last name. Not many customers like having their real name show on the web, so you can change your username or “display name”. If you want to check what your display name looks like, click on any layout in the gallery. Underneath the layout in the comments sections, you’ll see the words “You are logged in as XXX”. That’s your display name and what will show up as your username for each layout.
To change the display name, go to “My Account”, then click on “Account Details”. Here you can edit your Display Name. Make sure to clear out the current password box before you click Save Changes.
How do I edit or delete a layout?
If you need to edit your layout, or to delete a layout, go to “Profile” on the top black menu bar.
You will see all your uploaded layouts. Underneath each layout, you will see a wrench and the words “Edit”. After you click “Edit”, you can change the title, description or category. You can also delete the layout.
Do the layouts have to be 100% Kellybell Designs? Can I use another designer's template?
Since the gallery is a showcase of layouts using Kellybell Designs, layouts should contain 100% Kellybell Designs kits and accessories. It is OK to use a template from another designer.
How many layouts can I upload per day?
Please limit your uploads to 5 layouts per day.
Can anyone LIKE or comment on my layouts?
If you are logged in, you can LIKE a layout or leave a comment for a layout. We all like to receive comments on our pages, so please feel free to browse the gallery and to LIKE/comment on as many layouts as you can!
